Before the Storm
Trim Trees and Loose Branches
Secure Outdoor Furniture and Equipment: Secure items such as trash cans, patio tables, sports equipment, and trampolines.
Vehicle Safety: Park vehicles away from trees, in a garage or under sturdy shelter if possible.
Generator: If you have a generator, test it to ensure it's working correctly and have fuel available.
Emergency Kit: Prepare or replenish your emergency kit with essentials like water, non-perishable food, flashlights, batteries, a first-aid kit, and medications.
Charge Devices: Fully charge phones, laptops, and any other essential electronic devices.
During the Storm
Stay Informed: Monitor local weather updates.
Have A Shelter Plan: The safest part of your home for a shelter is the lowest interior room with the least amount of windows.
After the Storm
Avoid Downed Power Lines: Stay far away from downed power lines and report them to the utility company.
Be Cautious: Exercise caution when walking around debris or damaged areas.
Stay safe!
